Location: Raleigh or Durham WO-Kids Summer Camp Site

Job Type Seasonal without benefits (Less than 1000 hours)

Work Hours/Days: 35-40 /week between 7:00 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Friday

Duration: June 17 - August 9, 2019 

The Site Administrator is responsible for working along with the Summer camp to develop and implement the Okids summer camp. This person will be involved in camp planning, marketing, organizing and procuring supplies, and communicating with staff during the 2019 summer camp season.

This is a 40 to 50 hour per week position that runs to August 9.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Site Administrator shall include, but are not limited to: 

  • Developing and implementing camp plans for each of the designated summer camp weeks.

  • Acting as Head Counselor each week by leading other camp counselors in executing activities, maintaining WOkids philosophy, and providing a safe, fun experience for the campers and staff.

  • Interacting with parents by: checking campers in and out, communicating any problems or concerns, sending out weekly update emails about what activities/discoveries/games were done in camp for the week, as well as sending out notification about the upcoming week. 

  • Providing guidance and mentoring Junior Counselors working with you; assist in creating a professional bond between on-site staff

  • Communicating camp plans and expectations with fellow staff 

  • Following camp procedures and making sure staff working at WOkids summer camp each week has a good understanding of procedures 

  • Ensuring there are adequate first aid supplies and someone qualified is designated to provide first aid for the camp 

  • Keeping the Camp Director updated on any challenges, parent questions, how camp is going, activities or concerns and checking in each week 

  • Keeping the Camp director updated with any registration changes or challenges, sharing updates with them, coordinating pick up of t-shirts and camp lists if needed 

  • Keeping all pertinent paperwork injury/incident daily.

  • Refurbishing supplies for the following week’s camp
